As we all have experienced; life is truly a journey. We move in stages from childhood to adolescence, young adulthood to adulthood, retirement to old age. Each stage has its own challenges, from developing motor skills, speech and language to mastering grade school tasks. From initial dating relationships to beginning careers and families. In middle adulthood: sustaining marriages, raising families and building careers to developing a sense of meaning and generativity. In retirement, where we look foe meaningful engagement with our community and sustaining strong relationships. And lastly old age, where we look back on a life well lived.
At times the journey is exciting, we feel that we are moving forward and have an idea where we are going and what we are working towards. Other times we can feel lost or going around in circles, not knowing who we are, what we want, or how to actualize our vision of what we want our lives to be like. Grief, anxiety, depression, or life events beyond our control often can cause a loss of direction and purpose. It may be hard to handle challenges and everyday problems.
I find that each of us, in our own way, are seeking to find our unique voice and talents and have them come forth in our relationships, hobbies, work, and other interests. Anxiety, depression, loss, stress, situational crises, and other factors can prevent us from hearing ourselves and listening to the voice of inner guidance. It is my goal to help people hear their inner guidance, and chart their unique life direction.
Over the years I have been trained in many different forms of therapy: cognitive behavioral, family systems, solution focused, psychodynamic and and Jungian therapy. You and I will work together and find the approach, or combination of approaches that best suit your needs and goals. I seek to have a balance between empathetic listening and giving guidance and direction when necessary. Many people who have not gained much benefit in previous therapy have made progress with my active, engaged approach.
Currently I offer individual therapy for adults age 20 to 65+, family therapy, couple therapy, and group therapy. I enjoy working with clients and families of many diverse backgrounds. For individuals I offer either shorter term counseling (which focuses on finding ways to successfully resolve challenges and problems) and longer term therapy (for help with finding ones internal voice of guidance and using that to inform ones life choices: relationships, vocational journey and spiritual pursuits).
Please check out the different services I offer including group therapy and music meditation. Feel free to contact me with any questions; I look forward to working with you!
